What is the DTC Cleaner?

The DTC Cleaner is a device that effectively removes inactive errors or faults from a vehicle. It functions similarly to a diagnostic tool and needs to be connected to the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port. Once connected, it scans the vehicle's components by directly accessing their control units and clears any errors they may be displaying.

Why use a DTC Cleaner?

The DTC Cleaner proves invaluable when drivers need to erase faults on the go, especially those caused by faulty vehicle components. It requires no expertise in diagnostics as it can be effortlessly plugged in to do the job for the driver.

For instance, in cases where faults occur in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, drivers often find themselves restricted by a capped vehicle speed (Limp mode) after a specific duration, with the vehicle stuck in a single gear and limited to a maximum speed of 15-30 mph, resulting in sluggish performance, especially when carrying heavy loads.

Our DTC Cleaner can reset the Limp mode timer for the vehicle, allowing the driver to complete their tasks and conveniently reach a service center. If immediate SCR repairs are not feasible, worry not; you can use the DTC Cleaner as many times as needed until you're ready to address the SCR system repair.

What errors does it clear?

The DTC Cleaner functions like a "Clear All" button on a diagnostic system, enabling the clearance of any other inactive errors present in the vehicle. However, it cannot resolve errors resulting from active physical faults within the vehicle.

For specific information on the units to which the DTC Cleaners can connect and the faults they can clear, please feel free to contact us.
